Sayama-kaori is a cultivar originating from Saitama Prefecture, near to Tokyo. It is known for its strong, sweet fragrance. Our Sayama-kaori sencha is more fruity and floral than the Yabukita offerings, mildly astringent, but remaining gentle and well-defined. The raspberry fruitiness on the tongue fades slowly into heady floral fragrances as you exhale. We highly recommend tasting this side-by-side with our other asamushi-senchas to fully appreciate the distinctions between cultivars.
